The role
This role is for a broker who is passionate about their ‘’game’’. You are already familiar with the major players on both the owners and charterers’ side and you have hands on knowledge of who to talk to and how to make headway. The role will entail a lot of period fixing and some coas and hence a good grip on the various period charter-parties used will be essential. The role is important for the future success of this desk and hence you will play a pivotal role going forward.
The person
You are a person who enjoys making deals and see creative ideas coming back as cash. Shipbroking is your life and making deals and make your principals happy is what triggers you to do even better. Their success is your success. You know by delivering service and taking care of your principal they will give business in return. You are a person who values relationships and see the value in developing your clients. You are a dealmaker, however you understand that sometimes it is better to give a good service long term than go for a ‘’ quick kill’’. You are strategic in your approach and have a clear view of the timecharter market and the fundamentals.
